Exfoliate to get a Glowing Complexion

Dead skin cells make the skin on your face look dry, ashen and flakey. Exfoliation loosens and removes those dead skin cells and clears the way to show the younger, brighter skin underneath.
Our skin actually does this process naturally, but needs extra help because pollution and foundation get stuck in pores. Exfoliating your face once a week will reveal your more gorgeous skin, also making a smoother canvas to apply your makeup. Another benefit of exfoliating is it helps to prevent acne scarring and ingrown hairs (tell that to your boyfriend).
Usually exfoliate only once a week, maybe twice in hot summer weather. Doing it too often can scratch your skin, or damage PH level in your skin and dry your face out. If you have terribly oily skin, though, you can exfoliate 3-5 times a week.

Keep these in mind when looking for an exfoliant
- Don't use harsh exfoliants on the face
- Select an exfoliation product that fits your skin type (dry, oily, ect)
- Save the intensive exfoliants for your trips to the dermatologist
- Keep your face moisturized if you exfoliate regularly
- Apply sunscreen every morning to balance out the skins increased sensitivity to sunlight from using exfoliants

Casey (11/24/2007)i was going to recommend that but then i heard that sometimes some of the apricot seeds have sharp ends that can scratch your skin. i have this exfoliant right now that i really like by biore. it uses manufactured microbeads instead of seeds so they're more round.
